TRAVELER'S TIPS:
Reason to Visit There: Uncommon lesser whistling ducks and other wildlife such as fishes, birds and swans can be seen at the Singapore Botanic Gardens which was successfully inscribed as Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site on 4 July 2015, and is also the first and only tropical botanic garden on the UNESCO's World Heritage List.
How to Get There: The Gardens is accessible via Tanglin Gate (5-minute bus-ride from Orchard MRT station) and Nassim Gate as these gates are nearer to many popular attractions such as Swan Lake, National Orchid Garden, Ginger Garden and Shaw Foundation Symphony Lake. Bukit Timah Gate is furthest away from many popular attractions and nearest to Eco Lake. However, it is only 30 m away from the Botanic Gardens MRT station and bus stop.
Nature & Wildlife Hot Spots: Lesser Whistling Ducks can be found at Singapore Botanic Gardens, Gardens by the Bay, Lorong Halus, Kranji Marsh, West Coast Park, Punggol Barat and Jurong Central Park.
